What are 316L Stainless Steel and Gold PVD ?

316L Stainless Steel

Our jewelry utilizes a range of materials, but the majority of pieces on our site are crafted from 316L surgical grade stainless steel. This metal, which is also used for surgical instruments, is generally safe for sensitive skin and will not cause skin discoloration or turn it green. Stainless steel resists oxidation due to its chromium content, meaning it will not tarnish like other metals. While individual reactions can vary, it is typically metals like brass, copper, and nickel that are responsible for skin reactions and color changes. Check if you are allergic to any alloy or metal before purchase.

18K Gold PVD

The beautiful sheen of our 18K Gold is achieved through the use of 18K Gold PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating technology. If these pieces were solid gold, the price would be much higher!
We typically coat between 8-10 microns to ensure a brilliant, long lasting finish.
You can rely on the longevity of our jewelry thanks to PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating technology. By vacuum-sealing finishes like 18K gold, 18K rose gold, black, and rainbow directly onto the steel, we create a much harder and more resilient surface than electroplating provides. This means your pieces will be tarnish-resistant for years with regular use! Our commitment to quality is proven, as our PVD coatings have successfully withstood over 1200 hours of neutral salt spray exposure.

Is our jewelry nickel free?

The majority of our jewelry is crafted from 316L Surgical grade stainless steel, the same material trusted in surgical tools and considered safe for most skin types. It is important to note that nearly all metal types, including high-quality gold and steel, contain a trace amount of nickel. However, we have designed our pieces with the highest health and safety standards in mind. Our jewelry is generally safe and ideal for daily wear, unless the wearer has an extremely severe nickel allergy (a very rare occurrence). How to clean jewelry?

For easy maintenance and to ensure your jewelry retains its beautiful shine, we suggest gently cleaning it with a polishing cloth.
